Katalin Neray'i kaybettik. Gönlü zengin, özenli bir insandı. Birinci Manifesta'nın şef küratörüydü. Center for Curatorial Studies'de yaz sergimizi gerçekleştirmişti. Budapeşte'deki Ludwig müzesini yılar boyunca sakin bir biçimde hale yola sokmuştu. En son 2005 yazında Ljubljana'da bir jüride birlikte olmuştuk, zorla yürüyordu.

CIMAM learns with great sadness about the death of Katalin Néray, a long-time active member of this organization.

Katalin Néray was a winner of the Széchenyi Prize and Director of the Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art. She was also Director of Budapest’s Kunsthalle from 1984 to 1992. A prolific exhibition organizer, both in Hungary and abroad, she was four times curator of the Hungarian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, as well as Hungarian and/or Eastern European curator of the Sao Paulo Biennial. She was chief curator for Manifesta 1 in 1996 and published regularly in journals and catalogues both domestic and international. Her loss is immense for the world of art and museums.
